Question:
This patient has a Class 2 Div 2 malocclusion. Her main concern is the mild crowding of lower lower anterior teeth. The LL1 is lingually placed and not in line with the rest of the arch. Is this a suitable case for the Inman Aligner and do I need to incorporate an Expander?

Answer:
This case is definitely suitable. A standard lower Inman Aligner with 010 springs is sufficient; no Expander is necessary. All you need to do is make sure you carry out enough IPR from the distal of the canine right to the other canine. The tooth should move very quickly. You may need a tiny composite anchor on the incisal edge of the instanding tooth as well. The upper teeth are easy to move as well if you want to treat them.
