Question:
This patient has a Class 2 Div 2 malocclusion. Is she a suitable case for the Inman Aligner and should I incorporate an Expander with it?

Answer:
This is a suitable case for the Inman Aligner. You can incorporate an Expander to reduce the amount of IPR needed and to make room for the teeth in the arch. The patient can turn the screw once a week for a maximum of 7 weeks. Ultimately you are looking to push the centrals forward and need to get them past the bulbosity where they contact with the laterals. Therefore, you may still need a little IPR to free up these contacts. Use 010 spring and place some small composite anchors on the incisal/palatal surfaces of the UR1 and UL1. It is important to warn the patient that the UR1 is definitely shorter than the UL1, so once aligned she may need some bonding to mask the differential wear. This is a good case and it should work well.
