Question:
What is the best way to place a bonded wire retainer to the lingual surface of teeth?

Answer:
It is ideal to use a preformed retainer on a jig. Ensure that you use a flowable composite such as Luxaflow. This way you are more likely to get a nice smooth elliptical blob rather than a lump. The following photo shows the amounts you should be using. Use a little more on the canines. Also, as you flow the composite on, push the wire against the teeth at the interproximal area away from the composite, and cure to ensure the wire is flush with the teeth. You can always practice the amount you are going to use by applying the flowable composite onto the model with the jig in place first.
