This young lady presented complaining mainly about rotated her upper right central tooth. She was actually considering veneers to redistribute the space over the four front teeth. This would have meant 3 aggressive preparations and one severe preparation with certain endodontics on the upper right central tooth.
Space calculation showed that treatment would be possible with an Inman Aligner. Because of the relatively low cost risk, she decided on this option understanding that we would not be able to achieve correct golden proportion due to the width and length of her lateral teeth.
Treatment took 13 weeks with 3 sessions of interproximal reduction. A total of 3mm was stripped and 0.75 mm was gained with an expander.

This lady presented initially wanting 8/10 Porcelain Laminate veneers on her upper teeth. On examination of her photos, it was clear that her rotated incisors would need fairly heavy preparations on their most protruded aspects. This would undoubtedly expose dentine, and there would even be a mild risk of pulp exposure.
An upper standard Inman Aligner was constructed. Interproximal reduction was completed over 3 review appointments and was carefully measured and recorded.
Within 3 months the teeth were fully aligned. An Essix type thermoplastic retainer was made and the patient wore this full time for a month and then night time only.
A course of home bleaching was then performed. After a few weeks, direct resin was placed with virtually no preparations. A stainless steel multi-strand retainer wire was then bonded from canine to canine on the palatal surfaces.
The patient was thrilled with the result as we had given her the smile she wanted without any invasive irreversible dentistry. Clearly aesthetic perfection can be achieved more easily with porcelain laminate restorations, but a very pleasing result can also be achieved at far less cost and risk for the patient and the dentist using an Aligner
