Lower teeth simple case crowding less than 3mm.
This lady presented as a typical case of relapsed adult ortho. Crowding was mild but she had noticed the uneven outline of the lower front teeth.
Initially she had considered treatment with invisible braces but it was clear that she was an ideal candidate for an Inman Aligner. Only one single Inman Aligner was required.
This treatment took just 4 weeks to get the teeth aligned. The Inman aligner was left in place for a further 3 weeks and then ortho retention wire was used to bond the teeth permanently.

Lower teeth moderate case crowding.
The patient is a 25 year old who complained about the appearance of her lower anterior teeth. She gave a history of orthodontic treatment in her teenage years but was only told to wear a retainer at night for three months.
She had noticed her lower four incisors starting to become crowded again. Treatment options discussed were invisible braces, conventional fixed brackets or an Inman aligner.
The amount of crowding was calculated at 3.5mm. The teeth were aligned in just over 9 weeks. The aligner was left in for a month to stabilize the tooth positions. Tooth whitening was undertaken for two weeks.
Finally orthodontic retention wire was bonded in place on the lingual surfaces ensuring the patient could still use super floss for hygiene.

Lower teeth complex case crowding above 4mm.
This patient presented having received an orthodontic treatment plan of having her outstanding lower central tooth extracted and then fixed braces on for at least a year to pull the teeth together.
Our concern was that the patient was already suffering from excessive tooth wear and pulling the canines closer and doing so without a restorative treatment plan would merely have exacerbated the problem of a lack of anterior and canine guidance.
Instead an Inman Aligner was used. Interproximal reduction was completed by inducing the domino effect (no more than 0.5mm per contact) and within 10 weeks her teeth were aligned with no extractions necessary.
Direct composite tips were placed on the teeth to correct the wear and the guidance simultaneously with no preparations done to the teeth whatsoever.
