    Lightbulb Forum Guide

Welcome to the Straight Talk Seminars Community Forums

    Dentist Only Area

These forums are intended as a private community discussion portal for cosmetic, restorative and general dentists. We welcome all our past alumni, future delegates and any dentist introduced or who requests access. Our special interests and main discussion forums currently include Inman Aligners, Veneers, Gum Lifts, Dental Photography and more will be added later.

    Premier Member Support

This is a member-only paid service forum. Only members who have completed a Straight Talk Seminars (online or hands-on) course can subscribe to this service from the My Account section. This service is principally intended as a one to one support for Inman Aligner and Spacewize users, but feel free to ask any Straight Talk Seminars course related question . For help on specific case problems, upload relevant photos to illustrate your questions. Responses will be handled during UK weekday office hours and evenings and may take 24 – 48 hours.

    Creating an account

All our online and hands-on course delegates will be provided with log-in details. Introductions and other requests for access can be sent via the contact us page.

    Logging in/out

Logging into the main website will access any current subscriptions such as Online Courses or Spacewize. It should also log you in to the forum area, but this does depend on your browser. If you open the forum and you are not logged in, just log in at the top of the forum page. If you leave the forum idle for 40 minutes you will be logged out automatically.

    Troubleshooting

Lock-ups / freeze frames: The forum area is a private member area so you will need to log out and log back in if the forum has been left idle for a long period. Occasionally with certain browsers this will cause them to lock and prevent further access. If so you may need to clear your cache or force quit before you can log back in.

Content lost while making a post: When you are making a post please complete your post within 40 minutes as you will be logged out automatically after this time and your text and photos will not be saved. If you cannot finish your post within this timeframe, select all and copy and paste it into a new thread later or a Word/Pages document. If you have a very long post with lots of photos it may be better to write it first then paste it into your forum post, then add photos.

    Replying to a thread

If you wish to reply to an open thread just write in the text box below it, attach photos if required and click on the Post Quick Reply. If you wish to access some of the advanced functions, such as managing attachments or setting a subscription that will notify you when someone next replies to this thread, click the Go Advanced button and click Submit Reply when you are done.

    Starting a new thread

If you wish to start a new thread just click on the forum section such as Veneers or Dental Photography and click the Post New Thread button to get started. You must enter a title of at least 10 letters as well as your message plus relevant photos. Click the Submit New Thread button when you are done.

    Attaching and inserting photos

When you are writing a post you may upload photos as attachments or insert photos within the message itself. Click the Attachments Icon> Manage Attachments to bring up the Attachments window. Then click Add Files > Add Files From Your Computer > Select Files. Then choose photo(s) and click Open>Upload Files. Once the images are uploaded in the Upload Manager window you can drag them into the Attachments window and then choose to either Insert Attachment if you wish those images to be attached to your post or Insert Inline if you wish them to be inserted within the message. Photos may also be inserted via the Insert Image button. The Upload Manager may also be accessed from the Additional Options> Manage Attachments button further down the page if you prefer. Please note, it may not be possible to insert photos with certain browsers, but still add them as attachments.

    Community Features

You can set up a profile, add friends and contacts from within the STS community, send private messages, set event reminders and other functions. You can access these features from the forum toolbar. Click on Your Name or My Profile to view your profile.
