    Default Microabrasion

    Hello

Sorry this is way off topic but I just wanted some advice.

I have a patient with the upper central incisors with White patches on the teeth.

I wanted to try microabrasion on them. I have tried to purchase PREVA but do not know where to get it from.

I also wanted to know if any members has tried and and how effective it is?

Also if it does work, if the patient then goes on to have Bleaching done, will the patches reappear on the teeth?

    Thanks in advance

    Usman

    Hi Usman,

I've used this before to good effect: Opalustre chemical and mechanical abrasion - Optident Online Store

It worked on white and yellow florosis patches really well but they MUST be shallow (0.2mm). I normally get them to whiten after.

    Hi James

    Thanks for the information.
How do I know if the staining is less than 0.2mm?

That's the problem! Small white spots do tend to be quite superficial and so do the mild yellow ones. I've had it work very well in both situations. I always warn the patient that it may not improve and explain enamel loss etc. So far though, so good but I don't do it often.
